Call for Papers

1. Papers:

Generic Topics:

  1. Networks emergency services
  2. Reliable emergency communications and applications
  3. Response to the networks emergency services
  4. Disaster prevention and recovery
  5. Fighting mechanisms for disaster of networks and applications
  6. Networks resiliency methods
  7. Recovery in various networks
  8. Theory on robust networks
  9. Customer protection and serviceability perception
  10. Cost models and business impact
  11. Cultural and legal aspects
  12. Future advanced network development and evolution
  13. Standards and guidelines
  14. Lawful interception and defense strategies
  15. Security issues with emergency services and disaster recovery

2. Technical marketing/business/positioning presentations:

The conference initiates a series of business, technical marketing, and positioning presentations on the same topics. Speakers must submit a 10-12 slide deck presentations with substantial notes accompanying the slides, in the .ppt format (.pdf-ed). The slide deck will be published in the conference’s CD collection, together with the regular papers. Please send your presentations to petre@iaria.org

3. Tutorials:

Tutorials provide overviews of current high interest topics. Proposals for half or full day tutorials are due by January 15, 2005.

4. Panels:

Proposals on controversial and challenging topics are expected.

Scientific papers:

  • The AICED 2005 Proceedings will be published by LNCS Springer-Verlag.
  • Best papers will be forwarded for consideration in a special issue of a journal.
  • A best paper award will be granted by the IARIA award selection committee.
  • Only .pdf or .doc files will be accepted for paper submission. All received papers will be acknowledged.

Authors of accepted papers will later be required to submit an LNCS copyright form. Please assure that you have all necessary authorizations in place. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to submit full-length manuscripts of max 8 pages lengths for inclusion in the Proceedings to be published in LNCS series of Springer-Verlag. Panels proposal:

AICED 2005 organizers encourage scientists and industry leaders to organize dedicated panels dealing with controversial and challenging topics and paradigms. Panel moderators are asked to identify their guests and manage that their appropriate talk supports timely reach our deadlines. Moderators must specifically submit an official proposal, indicating their background, panelist names, their affiliation, the topic of the panel, as well as short biographies.

Deadline for tutorial/panel proposals January 5, 2005
Notification of acceptance December 25, 2004
Camera ready submissions January 5, 2005
