Departure from the hotel to Vieux Habitants: Vanibel, a charming property situated 350 m high, in the heart of the Leeward Coast, well-known for its traditions and natural environment. Visit of the estate: coffee, vanilla, banana.

Departure to Basse Terre, the administrative capital, then up to St-Claude. Stop at the local market. Lunch at the Bonifierie, an old dwelling from the 18th century, completely renovated, where you will enjoy creole food.

In the afternoon, departure along the Atlantic Coast to St-Sauveur, through impressive banana plantations. After a 20 minutes walk, you will enter the heart of the tropical rainforest, and find the second waterfall, 360 feet high.

Then, after Sainte Marie, where landed Christopher Columbus on November 4th, 1493, you will vi­sit the “Domaine du Marquisat de Ste Marie” , the Longueteau distillery,  where a short historic talk on the rum will be presented to you. Rum and punch tasting, possibility of purchase.

Return to the hotel in the end of the afternoon.
