Nino Vidovic, Ph.D. Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, CISCO, NMTG

Ninos responsibility include defining strategic technology direction for the manageability of CISCO platform and its components, definition of the architecture of the CISCOs next generation common management platform and the design of the software manageability solutions for service networks.

Prior to CISCO, Nino was founder and CEO of couple of Silicon Valley startups. His recent start-up, UXCOMM service offering, including platform products, applications and service components for OEM/VAR and end-user customers. In his role as Vice President at AT&T Labs, Nino managed large engineering organization spread over 3 continents, delivering a large-scale IP-based service platform, working in co-operation with partners such as NTT, Deutsche Telecom, Hong-Kong Telecom and Telia. As Director of Internet multi-media, his responsibility was leading design, development and deployment of multimedia infrastructure and service applications for AT&T's next generation Internet platform.

Prior to AT&T Nino was at Sun Microsystems responsible for identification of new technologies for the development of next generation network-enabled applications. His patented work on the web-based design framework for developing network applications was the basis for JavaWorkshop - the first Java commercial development environment from Sun Microsystems.

Prior to Sun, Nino served as chief scientist for Ready Systems, a company founded by James Ready, a pioneer in real-time, embedded operating systems and tools.

Nino is a frequent speaker at technical conferences and symposiums, and has been published in technical journals and magazines. He holds several patents and co-authored the book Middleware Networks: Concept, Design and Deployment of Internet Infrastructure, published by Kluwer Academic Publishers.

Nino holds a doctorate in Computer Science from University of Zagreb and a Masters in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
