Dr. Christophe Roche

Christophe Roche is Full Professor in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Savoie, France (http://christophe-roche.fr/). He is currently in charge of the Condillac Research Group on “Terminology and Ontology” (University Savoie Mont-Blanc) (http://new.condillac.org/), Dean of the KETRC (Knowledge Engineering and Terminology Research Center) of the Liaocheng University (Talent Prize of the Shandong Province, China) (http://ketrc.com/), and Associate Researcher at the Linguistic Research Center at the University NOVA of Lisbon (Portugal). His lectures are in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Terminology, and Ontology.

Christophe Roche is an international Expert for the ISO Technical Committee TC 37, Project Leader of the ISO 1087-1 Standard on Terminology Vocabulary. He is also the Chairman of the AFNOR (The French Organization for Standardization) Commission on Terminology, Principles and Coordination.

Christophe Roche has participated in several European and international research Projects on Artificial Intelligence, Terminology, and Ontology: FP 4, Eureka PVS98, Interreg II Mapping, FP6 ASTECH, Interreg III GICOM, Tempus Pal-Gov, FP7 Linked Heritage, FP 7 SIERA, PAULIF, Interreg IV Ontoreverse, Xu Guangqi, FP 7 AthenaPlus, H2020 Elexis.

He has participated in several industrial projects on Terminology and Ontology: French Ministry of Education, Electricity of France (EDF: Nuclear plants, Water dams), INE (Instituto Nacional de Estatística, Lisbon), GRETh (renewable energy), Wallonie-Bruxelles Federation (Terminology and Culture), etc.

In 2007 Christophe Roche set up the international TOTh Conference in Terminology and Ontology (http://toth.condillac.org/), and in 2018 the first University Diploma in Terminology in France.

He has published and given more than one hundred publications and invited talks. He is a member of several program committees of international conferences in Ontology, Knowledge Engineering and Terminology: TOTh, NLPCS, EGC, OntoContent, VORTE, ICWIT, FLAIRS, ExaCt, FUBATEC, IEA/AIE, JFO, Web, TKE, etc.
