Prof Dr Juan Pelaz

Prof. Dr. Juan Carlos Pelaez is the Technical Assistant to the Director for Science & Technology at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi MD. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Delaware.  Dr. Pelaez research interests involve: Network and Data Security, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) networks, Computer and Network Forensics and Object-Oriented Design & Patterns. In addition his work experience includes performing security research on IP-based networks; studying network representations to model, simulate, test, and prototype networks with intent to discover new ways to characterize network environments and the information embedded in the network; conducting investigations into attacks on wireless VoIP networks.

Dr. Pelaez is the recipient of Information Technology Distinction Award from the Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards (HENAAC). He is also the recipient of the U.S. Department of the Army Award for Superior Civilian Achievement.

Dr. Pelaez has been serving as member of scientific committees, and has served as an advisory chair or presenter at several international conferences. He is an active member of IEEE, IFIP Working Group 11.9 on Digital Forensics and the Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) Honor Society for Computing and Information. He is author of the book "Network Security and Forensic Models Using Patterns" and several book chapters and research papers.
