Prof. Dr. J. William Atwood

Dr. J. William Atwood received the Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University, the Master of Applied Science from the University of Toronto, and the Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Illinois, all in Electrical Engineering.  After a brief period in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Toronto, he joined the Department of Computer Science at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.  Since 2006 he is Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering.

His primary research focus is on secure multicast communications: key management; end user identification; incremental deployment; routing; authentication, authorization and accounting; digital rights management.  He is also exploring the use of signalling in cellular and MPLS networks.
