Dr. Axel Kramer

Dr. Axel Kramer obtained his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics from the Technical University in Munich (TUM) in 1995 and 1999, respectively. After his Ph.D. at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biochemistry, he continued working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), where he focused on nano-optics in the field of single-molecule spectroscopy. From 2002-2005 he worked for IT’IS Foundation as a Project Manager in the area of electro-optic field sensors and photonic links. In 2005 Axel Kramer joined ABB Corporate Research, where he works now as a Principal Scientist exploring novel sensor technologies for future products in ABB’s various business fields.
